Basongye/Songye Tribe Log Drums – These log drums were important ceremonial instruments traditionally carved from a single hollowed tree trunk by Songye people. Used in rituals, dances, communication and public gatherings, these drums produced deep resonant tones that could carry over long distances. Many examples feature carved geometric patterns, stylized human or animal forms, and symbolic motifs reflecting status, protection and ancestral power.
